Erasmus University Rotterdam
Introduction: Hi! My name is Christine, I work at the EUR in Rotterdam but live in Amsterdam where I moved for my bachelor’s/master’s. Outside of work I love rollerdisco’s and the colour pink (I will be easy to spot during the OGSS..) |
Research topics: My research is at the intersection of expert-novice interaction, visual attention and (multi)media learning with adults. I use eye-tracking to see how experts and novices interact when learning complex visual tasks. My background is (cognitive) neuro, before my transition into education I worked with eye-tracking in other contexts like wayfinding and UX-research. |
Current research interest : Currently I’m investigating how eye-tracking can be used not only as a tool for measurement, but also as a tool for intervention to improve visual learning processes in applied contexts. |
Tips & tricks: Two things: Design your research to be not only “good” but also personally interesting for you (helps with writing) Don’t let the sunk cost fallacy catch you. If it feels like it’s not working and you can’t defend it, sometimes you need to throw it away and start over. Even after months of time invested. |
